Another Preview
Posted: 4:34 pm by Wolfy -
XboxLive Frankies, I mean France has a kicking preview of Halo 2. Of coarse I can only tell its kicking because of its pictures, but if you can read French, I'm sure you'll find it amusing. Go check it out.
Music

Music 4 Games interviews the mastermind behind the Halo, and upcomming Halo 2 soundtracks - Marty O'Donnell. He is very informational on the technical audio aspects of the Xbox, and how Halo 2 will use it all. Remember people... 5.1 is a sweet number.

A few days ago news errupted that Halo 2 will appear on Slurpee cups at 7-Eleven. Apparently, the rabbit hole is deeper then it appeared.

Mountain Dew and 7-Eleven have teamed up to bring us possibly the hottest sweepstakes this fall, and just before Halo 2. With prizes like:

  • And Xbox Live Custom Headset communicator

  • One Xbox game system, Xbox Live starter kit, one year subscription to Official Xbox Magazine

OMG Rockets!

I have finally posted the list of Nominees for this year Rockets on Prisoner Halo movie awards. This year was a bit tough. Without the use of judges, making this contest's outcome 100% fan-produced, the number of movies submitted were staggering. Ranging from the hit Fire Team Charlie series by XboxOttawa, to fan singles like Lethal Rage 4, counting the votes myself was a bit overwhelming. Go vote!

For a while I thought I was the only kid lucky enough to get blown up by a rogue grenade less than 3 feet from the flag drop-off point. Guess I'm not. Our good friend Bluestone of 343GS shares this experience through the use of sweet flash animation. Go laugh.
A Little TOO Real?

Mhaddy writes to tell us that part VI of "As Real As a 'Survivor' Elimination" is now up at The Junkyard. In this issue they talk about 343 Guilty Spark, and about how real Halo is compared to a real Marine.

It's finally come to pass.

Frankie has posted this weeks update on bungie.net, and it's almost sad to hear that the updates are nearing their end. But to make up for it, he says that Halo 2 is done, other than some slight work. Bungie employees are finally getting the break that they so sorely need. Go read the update for yourself. :crying:
Walk of Game
Posted: 5:28 pm by Wolfy -
Starting today, gamers from around the globe can cast their official vote for Walk of Game, the industry’s first physical landmark honoring video game icons and the impact they have had on the entertainment industry.

Between October 1 and October 31, 2004, game enthusiasts will visit http://www.walkofgame.com to cast their votes in the categories of “Game/Character” and “Lifetime Achievement.” The top four games/characters and the top two lifetime achievers will be inducted into Walk of Game and have a 24”x24”, customized, brushed-steel star installed on the floors of Metreon. The results of the voting will be announced in November 2004, with groundbreaking in 2005.

Gamers will vote from a list of nominees compiled from a survey of industry members, and technology, entertainment, and gaming media.

Thanks to Ted Brockwood for sending this along.
