"...we'd still just have a base in the middle of a boxed canyon. Whoop de freaking do..."
Posted: 2:59 pm by Bongo -
Comic genious's Red vs Blue made an exciting annoucement today! While many have known about the upcoming season 2 of The Bloodgulch Chronicles, it has now been confirmed that episode one will be released sometime this weekend. Here's what RvB had to say....

I hope you guys enjoy the online Season 2 premiere this weekend as much as we enjoyed the one in NYC on the 3rd. I am finally getting caught up on e-mail and I found some time to post my pictures of the event. If you prefer pictures to words (and there's nothing wrong with that) then click here to see them.

If you just want to know where Season 2 is, you're going to have to keep checking the site. We are purposefully withholding the time and date of its release because we need to balance the load. But it will be sometime between the time I finish typing this and Monday. We'll have the usual direct server links as well as BitTorrent and Gamespy links to help balance everything. We've added a new server to the mix, so that should even it out.

Visit the Red vs Blue webpage here, and be sure to enjoy the new and improved Sector 7 (Yes, the forums are back online! Don't you just love us?) while you wait for the upcomming video release

And more [that we haven't found out ourselves...]

Sector 7 is already starting off the new year with bling! Hmm, what else could we have up our sleeves?

"We need men!"
Posted: 12:02 pm by Bongo -
Bungie Studios has posted information regarding the open position of "Finishing Artist" within their company. While it's assumed it has to do with the completion of Halo 2, you can never be sure what surprises Bungie may have in store!

You can read about the position and its requirements here...

Secondly, Sector 7 would like to annouce to its loyal viewers that big changes are happening right now behind the scenes (regarding our webpage). So please, if things don't work as perfectly as they should, or you encounter slow loadtimes, remember that we're only working to make ourselves better

New Year, New Rants
Posted: 7:11 am by Bongo -
To kick off the new year, Sector 7 will be releasing yet another article today, written co-operatively between myself (Bongo) and Brerick. The article discusses the pro's and con's of sequels, and whether or not they're worth their full price of admission. Are enough improvements and advancements made to these sequels, or are they simply the same game in disguise?

You can view the article here!

Posted: 5:34 pm by Wolfy -
MTV and EGM will be featuring Halo and Halo 2 in the upcoming Ultimate Video Game Countdown, which MTV will air on January 2 at 8 p.m. EST. Viewers will be treated to a special in-depth look at Halo, along with footage of Halo 2 from E3 and some new video from the game's development team.

MTV will be counting down to the ultimate game of the millennium, as chosen by you. So please head on over to and vote for Halo as the ultimate game at:

UPDATE: Those of you that have read our news for the last two days knows that there was supposed to be some new Halo 2 footage on MTV's Video Game Awards last night. Apparently this information was wrong. We don't know if someone made a mistake or if it was just a publicity joke, but we are sorry for the mis-information. (From BGH, just spreading the word)

New Playlists Up!
Posted: 5:12 pm by Jag - Halo 2
The new playlists for Halo 2 have been up for a while if you've missed them! And they're a blast!

Team Action Sack: This playlist is what you should be playing if you're looking for a chaotic and unpredictable experience! Some games include Rocket CTF, or SWAT Fiesta, Ninja Assault - and much more! These games were submitted by the fans - I submitted Invisaball a while ago, and now you can play it in Matchmaking! Bungie does listen to the fans!

Rumble Armory: This is also an action-packed playlist, abiet less insane! This playlist pits you against up to 7 other people, with games that feature a single weapon set - games include Brutes, Swords, Sentinal Beams, and other similar games! Give it a try!

6 vs 6 Battle: This is basically something to fit between Team Skirmish and Big Team - 6 vs 6 battles using a mixture of the Big Team playlist and Team Skirmish.

Additional Changes: The Head to Head and Major Clanmatch playlists are gone - forever... Minor Clanmatch has been renamed 'Clanmatch' and now supports up to 5 people, but your Minor Clanmatch ranks remain intact. Team Snipers is now ranked - and your 'invisible' rank is now visible! If you played a little, you may be a 5 or 6, but some people are in the upper 20's! Big Team now supports only 7 or 8 players per team, to make way for 6 vs 6 Battle.

...a pretty significant update, to say the least.
